Wachusett Reservoir, along with the Quabbin Reservoir and Ware River, are the unfiltered source of high quality water for the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority water supply system. The 65 billion gallon reservoir covers 108 square miles.

The Sudbury and Foss Reservoirs are the emergency water supply for the DCR/ Massachusetts Water Resources Authority water supply system. The main sources of water are the Quabbin Reservoir, Wachusett Reservoir, and Ware River.

Stony Brook Reservation

This small forest in the middle of Boston offers activities to the whole family. Explore the trails on foot or bike, or head to Turtle Pond for some fishing. In the park's southern end, you'll find athletic fields and a pool and spray deck. The state of Massachusettes does not provide any accessible swimming options at Stony Brook Reservation. Squantum Point Park

This former Naval airfield is now a beautiful waterfront park. Squantum Point offers great views of the Boston Skyline across the harbor and is a popular spot for birdwatching.

The Southwest Corridor Park is a 4.1 mile, linear park stretching from the Back Bay to Forest Hills. The park links South End, Back Bay, Roxbury and Jamaica Plain withstreet-level, greenway. Recreational facilities include: 11 playgrounds, 2 spray pools.
